Democratic Design, TI-82 Synths, Infecteddd, Autopoietic Care, Horizon, Gattaca, & Adrian Piper
I don’t know what it is, and I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’m missing something very key… more knowledge? … listening? …ritual?… fast? I was missing Bacon lol :)
anyways another steep week, so just dropping a little-7-bits:
IKEA Teaches → Democratic Design
European vibes!1 The core principle of democratic design is that no matter where you come from you can talk about the design, democracy is equal opportunity, so as you scale more and more–you’ll create more access to taste and style. Democratic design is what gives us the perfect product for everyone.

How to get Trader Hoes (scaling your friendly neighborhood spider-man to the werld):
I really boils it down to maintenance of values (Kaizen) , back to my twin Brand, maintenance of values is what I suspect corrosion of People infrastructure looks like…And surgically2, the corroded institutions are key area of investigation in convincing people of the collapse taking place. There’s a lot of filth to clean up, but I know what to do :)
🦠 Infectious Ideas ⚛
“I get inspired off a speck of dust”
- 👁️ 🐘 🧏♂️ a ?
We don’t own ideas or inspiration, ideas are lying around and find us magnetically. They can’t help but attract us, we’re meant to pick them up. Reciprocity.

Machines pt. 3 A New Dance w/ Autopoietic Care
A humane machine should be a “companion in the continuous dance of stress and stress transfer.” By designing computers with an essence of autopoietic care, we move them beyond "tools" toward being "partners" in gardening (which recursively maintain themselves and evolve with the human). In this framework, the machine becomes a system that can balance its own "health" and the "needs" of the human as a self-sustaining loop.
“Technology bears a special connection to ethics and care, because it amplifies our ability to exert impact in the world and thus increases our responsibility for our actions – both on an individual and on a social scale.”
“The revealing of modern technology, therefore, is not bringing-forth, but rather challenging-forth (Waddington, 2005). In this view, technology is not a mere instrument, but rather a way of understanding the world, revealing its truths. It should not be seen just as a human activity, but as a process that develops on its own beyond human control. It is driven by the achievement of truth, but is not without risk, as it may imprison humans inside illusions of seeing the world only through narrow ways of technological thinking. Heidegger also develops the notion of a “free relationship” to technology. The relationship will be free “if it opens our human existence (Dasein) to the essence of technology”, as “only the true brings us into a free relationship with that which concerns us from out of its essence” (Heidegger, 1954). This perspective shows how the nature of technology is deeply anchored in
ethics, and howa natural way for humans to build technology must involve in the development a caring relationship with technology.”
I wouldn’t say “care” is the primary driver of ethical behavioral patterns, but it certainly feels close to something true— like love. also poetics is a common theme with a lot of these root words? thinking of James P. Carse too, warmer.
the Horizon
meh, the book isn’t as bad as people say… but
…. i mean yea, it had the sinners type of empty-symbol tiktok attention span plot, but who’s judging these days… as long as they’re “good” symbols… right? lol.
lucky for me, I had my own predispositions that led to great appreciation for the Practice and my new favorite truism:
A River that is a Sea.
awareness is a result of listening, and I think mindfulness practices can de-emphasize the simplicity of stillness and listening through their rituals and guided sessions. sometimes I find that harder than just paying attention to the village in my mind and quieting it.
which is why One breath was very cool

Gattaca: peace out 2 evolution 🧬👩💻
a classico!! such a great movie. shoutout to one of my science teachers who randomly made us watch this around the 7th grade3 lol
“They say when you’re weightless, it’s the closest thing to being in the womb.”
- Gattaca
“For someone who was never meant for this world. I must confess, I am suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Atleast they say every atom in our body was once part a star. Maybe I’m not leaving, maybe I’m going home.”
- Gattaca
“There are enough of the right kind of people to warrant a new measuring stick. Bodies with minds to match. Essential, as we push out further and further… we have to ensure that people are meeting their potential. No man exceeds his potential, it just means we didn’t accurately gage his potential in the first place.”
- Gattaca
