Bell's theorem, Pragmatism, Telestreet, An Awkward Oversharing, They Live, Food, & Punchinello
I swear I learn many new things every day, I just lack the discipline to translate them on top of...
So considering that my work isn’t getting any lighter, I’m trying to bare maximum share references that have inspired me:

Bell’s theorem/inequality 4 Dummies
The Appetizer:
John Stewart Bell was initially hindered by the lack of an English translation of John von Neumann’s work (not available until 1959)... He was told von Neumann definitively ruled out hidden variables1, which delayed Bell's own breakthroughs.2 Actually, both David Bohm and von Neumann walked so Bell could run. Bohm's work specifically showed how hidden variables were possible, but they had to be non-local (spooky for physicists). Bell then took that and proved that if you want to keep locality, you have to ditch the hidden variables (and realism)
Definitions
Quantum Entanglement: Occurs when particles interact or share proximity such that their quantum states cannot be described independently... they function as a unit regardless of distance
Realism: The philosophical belief that an object possesses properties (primary qualities) regardless of whether they are being observed or measured
Locality: The principle that physical processes occurring at one point should not have an immediate effect on processes at another point; information cannot travel faster than the speed of light
The EPR Paradox & Bell’s Intervention⚡️
In the "Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen" (EPR) paper, the phy-GOATs asked:
“Can quantum-mechanical descriptions of physical reality be considered complete?”
EPR argued that if physics is local, then quantum mechanics must be incomplete because there must be "hidden variables" we haven't found yet that determine the outcome of a measurement.
Bell’s Theorem: Bell proved that local realism is actually incompatible with quantum mechanics.
If we perform independent measurements on entangled particles, and they contain local hidden variables, there is a mathematical limit to how correlated they can be.
Bell’s Inequality: The mathematical expression of this limit. Quantum mechanics violates this inequality, proving that nature is either non-local, non-realist, or both.
why do I care?
Human Particularity
Primary Qualities: Borrowing concept from Locke, if we view human, our “primary quality”, as a collection of independent particles, then there are hidden variables, Bell suggests that these qualities do not exist as stable, “pre-relation” states.
øpacity: If human nature is “non-local” (entangled and evolving), then categorical thinking and external measurement fail as an epistemology to knowing the human.
We (as human) cannot be “captured” or “measured” by surface level measurement because our ‘personhood’ and ‘identity’ is not a set of static local variables that can be calculated, but an entangled, unfolding process
this is just my hunch… so much of my philosophy is taking math and re-contextualizing it in human parameters—why would physics not aid these ideas in the same respects?

Pragmatism 🇺🇸🦅
so… I found my philosophical family, and it’s what drew me to philosophy in the first place.
Pragmatism.3And I mean… what can I say, we do drip hard4…
*) there are two primary components of pragmatism that I care for in regard to philoso-founding: methodology and theory of truth
The Method
(Focus: consequences)
Practical Value: Instead of defining ideas through abstract principles or definitions, we should look for their “practical cash value” within our lived experience.
The Difference Maker: The method asks: What definite difference will it make to you and me at definite instances of our life if this formula or that formula be the true one?
Idle Disputes: If no practical difference can be traced between two competing ideas, then the alternatives mean the same thing, and any further argument is “idle”.
Theories as Instruments: Theories are not final solutions or “answers to enigmas,” but rather “instruments” or programs for further work and experimentation in the future—pushing the ark of humanity forward;)
Theory of Truth
(Truth = mediator)
Harmonization: Reject the idea that truth is a fixed “mirror” of reality. So truth isn't a trophy to find; it’s an evolving process of updating your software or beliefs.
The “Best Argument” So Far: I like to call it a proximity parameter. What we call truth in one timeline is not an endpoint, but a continuous process for future generations.
A new idea is adopted as “true” if it mediates between our existing stock of opinions and a new experience with the “minimum jolt” and “maximum continuity”.
To take home, rather than asking which option is "True" with a capital T, look at the practical consequences of believing in it. So, If you think you are so special to have found a fundamental truth of the universe—you’re likely kidding yourself. But like my friend John Stuart Bell, and those who came before him—you are likely to come across an important piece of the puzzle.
Look for lower t, truth, and I’m sure you’ll find one piece of it;)
🇮🇹 Telestreet: not on God, on revolution?
Telestreet (est.2002) the grand Italian media jacking movement.
Take back your media, take back ownership over your parts. Great inspiration on how to do so, except everything in the US is so illegal—and I’m still working on that courage piece...
An Awkward Oversharing… we did it Joe!
When I first saw her work, my jaw hit the floor. I couldn’t believe someone my age had the courage to be so exposed—then the clay, molded like magic, so public and awkwardly honest—her and him! I masked my shock at her courage over the phone, but in person, the awkwardness gave way to a strange comfort in knowing. Through her art, I finally learned how to see her. I didn’t see a shy girl at all; I saw someone confident, spunky, and fabulous!!
She inspired me to finally share my own art this week. I was terrified to be honest, but I did it—and the world didn’t end. I survived my "oversharing," and now I’m ready to grow up lol5
They Live (1988)
the ending of this made me optimistic for our future, and fearful of the FBI/CIA #magicglasses
Mars Attacks (1996)
the ending of this made me optimistic and confident in leading the country through any alien invasions 🤺 #foolmeonetime…
🍎 For thought?
to build an Empire of Liberty: The whole point of manifest destiny was not to create a grand empire, but to fulfill the vision of Jefferson (an empire of small Americas)

19th century Comedy — ft. Punchinello 1870
I actually laughed out loud…
hope you enjoyed the fish, lmk if something baits for you 🍣
John von Neumann’s 1932 proof, often interpreted as disproving hidden variable theories, argued that quantum probabilities cannot be derived from deterministic "hidden" states if those states must obey the same linear operator mechanics as quantum observables.
why global community is key!
not to be confused with pragmatics…
